How Do I Know When I Have a Subluxation?

Do you Have a Subluxation? A Subluxation is a misalignment of the bones in the top of the spine, called Atlas (C1) and Axis (C2), causing a physiological effect on your central nervous system. This may be due to a physical, chemical or mental stress that you have encountered. Whether you have a Subluxation is NOT based on whether you have symptoms. This specific problem must be based on objective tests conducted by a trained practitioner of upper cervical chiropractic care.
For example, you may have a sore neck after a long day of work, but this could just be the muscles being tired after staring at a screen for 10 hours. Conversely, you may also have had a fall and knocked your head but experience no symptoms. In this instance you could certainly be Subluxated but aren’t feeling any symptoms.
X-rays are important to establish if adjustments are safe, how long care will take and HOW to adjust your misalignment. However, you can have this misalignment BUT if there is no physiological effect on your central nervous system then it is not a Subluxation! To detect a true Subluxation there must be analysis of your nervous system to establish if it is in a:

1. Subluxated state

2. Healthy state

3. Healing state

Once the Doctor has established you are in a Subluxated state they should provide an adjustment. If you are not Subluxated they should not adjust as this could slow your progress or worse your case!
Think of it a bit like talking to an angry boss. If they are in a good mood it’s the time to talk, however if they are in a bad mood or a busy mood this could result in them getting angry! When you visit a Singapore chiropractic centre and see a Chiropractor, make sure they are using some sort of objective way to measure and monitor your nervous system, preferably some technology such as thermography. They also should NOT have to adjust you on every visit. If they do then either:

1. Your body isn’t adapting so always needs an intervention (therefore the treatment isn’t successful)

2. You may be adjusted when you don’t need to be
