What causes Subluxation?

Subluxation is a misalignment at the top bones of the neck (Upper Cervical, this results in occlusion of the space where the information comes out of the brain, pressure on the brain stem, and interference in the messages the brain and body send to each other via your nerves.

This Subluxation may be caused due to:

1. Physical stress. Such as a fall, accident, injury or a repetitive problem, such as sitting a certain way or your posture.

2. Chemical stresses. Such as unhealthy foods, drinking, smoking or medication, or even a physiological issue, such as a bacterial or viral infection.

3. Mental or emotional stresses of life, such as issues at work, issues at home or personal issues

I understand the last 2 may sound a bit strange and you’re wondering how a cold or an argument can affect the bones in your neck. The cause of the bones mis-aligning is usually physical originally, resulting in a weakened, susceptible position.  Adding chemical and mental stress will result in that predisposed weakness being more likely to become a problem (Read more about Stress).

Watch this video to understand more about these stresses:

Think of it a bit like yourself at work, you already have all your work to do and then a boss comes in and gives you more to do and you cant do it all, you crash! The same happens with these stresses, the mental stress may not be the full cause, but it can trigger the physical problem.

This Subluxation can result in migraines, headaches, vertigo, neck pain or other neurological problems.
