What is Evidence Based Chiropractic?

A term used within Chiropractic is evidence based Chiropractic.

All this means is that any approach or technique used has research and evidence to back it up on its effectiveness.

This term has been adopted by some Doctors which focusing mainly on symptoms, however this is applicable to ALL Chiropractors as long as they have valid research and evidence.

Evidence is widely available to show how upper cervical chiropractic helps pain based problems, such as back pain, neck pain and headaches (read here about Neck Pain). However, there is also lots of research that show patients having improvements in migraines, meniere’s, vertigo, ms, sleep and immunity issues (read here about the effect of Chiropractic on anxiety). This is all due to improvements and better regulation of the nervous system. When the nervous system is healthy and free from interference, the body and brain communicate properly, alleviating conditions or symptoms. This can also help to improve the efficiency of other bodily systems, such as the immune system.

All Chiropractic is evidence based and shouldn’t be used by any colleagues to try to look better than others.

Another problem is the quality of the research being utilised. Any research used must be proof read and have adequate basis for its scientific reasoning. It must be well written with clear goals and methods to be used. A larger test group of people is preferable, as is an intervention which can be recreated without needing laboratory conditions.

At Vitality Chiropractic in Singapore, we use technology, x-rays and tests, which are all evidence based, in the upper cervical care to help our patients find a solution to their health needs (read more about why Upper Cervical is different to general Chiropractic).

Since 2013, Upper Cervical Chiropractor, Dr. Shaan Rai helped patients achieve greater health, relocating to Singapore in 2016 and founding Vitality Chiropractic Centres. He has an impressive track record in providing relief and solutions for people who experience nerve system problems, such as headaches, migraines, dizziness, vertigo or neurological conditions.
