Is it All in Your Head? Singapore Chiropractor Doesn’t Agree

As Singapore Chiropractors, we notice for certain cases, patients will have been told by their other doctors that the problem is purely psychosomatic and that it is all in your head. For certain cases it is true that mental issues will be affecting the body and causing these physical ailments, however it isn’t always the case.

Chronic Health Problems and the Body’s Adaptation

Chronic health problems can start from small beginnings, such as a low impact car crash or infection, but it is about how the body deals with and adapts to it. In some cases the body may not deal adequately with the problem and it may develop more and more over time.

This can result in sensitisation of the nerves (becoming more sensitive) leading to increased susceptibility to pain or other conditions.

The blockages in the nerves can mean there is an overflow of nerve messages that pass to other areas because they cant go in their proper direction. Think of it like shoveling sand, you may move the sand out of one place, so instead it has to go somewhere else, it doesn’t just disappear! This is similar to your nerves, when the messages don’t get through, they are instead conducted in another direction, which could disrupt how the area functions. E.g. a nerve blockage in the neck could start to affect the surrounding muscles and blood vessels.

How can a Vitality Chiropractic Singapore provide assistance?

At Vitality Chiropractic Singapore, our chiropractic centre in Singapore, we do extensive testing for all of our patients to assess their condition and determine IF they are a candidate for care, not to presume it is all in your head. If so then our Singapore Chiropractor will make corrections (when needed) to the upper neck Subluxations (mis-alignments) to help the nervous system work properly. We have found that by removing pressure at this area it can help our patients relieve these chronic issues, or to make things more comfortable to deal with the underlying mental issues.

Think of this like going into a stressful day at work, it will be even more difficult to go into it with a migraine.

The body is always better WITHOUT a Subluxation than it is with it. – Shaan (Singapore Chiropractor)

If our testing concludes this case is not appropriate for our centre then we will refer to the appropriate practitioner.
